Obama Health Care Summit Watch Party!

As you’ve probably heard in the news, on Thursday, Feb. 25^th, President Obama is holding a bi-partisan summit on health care reform. This will be a day of reckoning for health care reform – either both Democrats and Republicans will show that they can work their ideas out together, or it will be obvious that the Democrats will have to move forward with merging the bills that have already passed both the House and the Senate without Republican support.

Since we have been working on this issue a long time, some of our leaders decided this is a great opportunity to get together, bring ourselves up-to-date on what’s going on, and re-energize ourselves for the final push that will make health care reform a reality. So, you are cordially invited to join us for a Summit Watch Party at the VIA office on Thursday, February 25 from noon to 1:00 pm – food will be provided; suggested donation $4.

The summit will be streamed live for many hours that day, but we will get together during the lunch hour and invite local media at that specific time so that we can generate excitement in the public at large as well as within our own ranks.

Please plan to come for that one-hour block of time! We will also talk briefly about next steps and what each of us can do to continue the push for reform.
