The two events we held on health care yesterday were both smashing successes! VIA received kudos on the quality of our information and presentation from the feds, as well as from the key health care staff of the entire Vermont Congressional delegation, and Governor Shumlin’s Special Assistant for Health Care. Leaders did a wonderful job presenting complex information in a clear, straightforward way, and we heard some moving stories from a business person, a primary care doctor, and a consumer about how broken the system is now.

VIA is hiring a half-time Community Organizer based in Central Vermont who will conduct leadership development training, meet one-to-one with congregants, facilitate their research into issues, and coordinate public meetings utilizing the research to gain commitments from public officials.
